About Trades.Agency

Written by Ali Sedighi, MBALast updated:

Trades.Agency exists for one kind of client: the owner of a Canadian trades or home-service company who wants more of the right jobs and wants to understand what the marketing money is doing. We are a marketing and business consulting firm, part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group, headquartered in Vancouver, BC, and led by Ali Sedighi, MBA. We don't install, repair or service anything. We help the companies that do get found, chosen and called.

How the company is organised

Trades.Agency sits inside a small group of companies, and each one has a clear job. Knowing which is which saves you confusion when you see the names on invoices or email signatures.

  • Sedighi.ca is Ali Sedighi's growth, marketing and technology consulting company. It is the umbrella for Trades.Agency, HVAC.Agency, HVAC.Digital, BusinessConsulting.ca and Conv.ca.
  • Trades.Agency is the brand for trades and home-service companies. Its plans and terms are summarised on our pricing page.
  • SAZ.ca (Strategy & Acceleration Zone) handles strategy, AI and revenue-acceleration consulting for the group. Ali founded it and is its Managing Partner, and Sedighi.ca provides its strategic leadership.
  • HVAC.Agency is the specialist sister brand for heating and cooling companies, where most of our published case studies come from.

TradesAgency.ca, the site you are reading, is simply the company page for Trades.Agency: the place to check who we are before you call.

Ali Sedighi, MBA

Ali has worked in digital marketing for 17+ years. He started in 2007 by founding ONE.ir, a full-service digital marketing agency, and he holds an MBA in Technology Management. He now lives and works in Vancouver, British Columbia.

He founded Conv.ca, a conversion-rate optimisation agency, and MyAutomation.ca, and he is Founder and Managing Partner of SAZ.ca. Over his career he has worked with clients in Canada, the USA and Dubai.

The work most relevant to a trades owner is his HVAC portfolio: 150+ live HVAC websites, including CombiBoiler.ca, GasBoilers.ca, CanroHeat.ca and HeatLand.ca. Those sites are public, so you can look at them yourself and judge the work before you ever speak to us. His full profile is on Sedighi.ca.

Our team approach

We describe the team by the work it does, not by stock photos. On every engagement the same five jobs need doing, and someone is accountable for each:

  1. Strategy. Setting priorities, budget and the numbers we judge success by. Ali leads strategy across the group, and your first call is with a senior strategist.
  2. Account management. One point of contact who knows your business, answers your texts and runs the monthly review.
  3. Build. Website, tracking, Google Business Profile and brand assets.
  4. Traffic. Local search, paid advertising and review programs.
  5. Reporting. Turning call logs and ad data into a one-page answer to "is this working?"

On the Enterprise plan these jobs are covered by a dedicated marketing team, along with priority support. We prefer this honest description to a page of invented faces. You will always know who is responsible for what.

How we behave with clients

A few rules shape how we work, and they are worth reading before you hire anyone, us included:

  • You own everything. Domain, website, Google Business Profile, ad accounts, call-tracking numbers and analytics are set up in your company's name.
  • No lock-in. Plans run month to month with 30 days' notice. If we aren't earning the fee, you should be able to leave.
  • No guarantees of rankings or leads. We commit to the work, the tracking and honest reporting. Search engines and customers decide the rest.
  • Plain language. If we can't explain a recommendation without jargon, we probably shouldn't make it.
  • Real proof only. Our case studies are HVAC results, and we label them that way on every page. See them on the results page.

Positioning, stated once and clearly

Put simply, Trades.Agency sells marketing and business advice to Canadian trades and home-service owners. We are not a contractor, we don't install, repair or service anything, and we never take on trade work for your customers. If that is the partner you are looking for, the contact page explains how to start, and the FAQ answers the questions owners usually ask first.

Frequently asked questions

Who founded Trades.Agency?

Trades.Agency is a brand of Sedighi.ca, the growth, marketing and technology consulting company of Ali Sedighi, MBA. Ali leads strategy across the group, including Trades.Agency and SAZ.ca.

Where is the company based?

We are headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, and serve trades companies across Canada, with consultations by video call or in person, plus phone, text and email. We are a service-area business and don't run a walk-in office.

How big is the team?

We don't publish a headcount or a gallery of staff, and we won't name people you will never speak to. Ali Sedighi is the named lead; the Enterprise plan includes a dedicated marketing team, and every plan has one named point of contact.

Why does an HVAC background matter for other trades?

Heating and cooling combines emergency calls, big-ticket replacements, seasonal swings and heavy competition. A method that works there carries over well to plumbing, roofing and electrical work, which share most of those pressures.
